Upholstery Suggestions
I have a lovely Kittinger, Jacobean dining set, circa 1925. I am doing a major remodel and would like to make our home more transitional than (rather than traditional). I want to reupholster the dining chairs to look fresher and more current and I need some fabric suggestions. I am also considering painting the sideboard...and yes I know some people will think that is sinful but I am open to a new look. I am considering wall colors in the gray/taupe family...accessories chartreuse greens & orange. Sideboard paint & upholstery fabric suggestions are welcome!

Comments (8)Hi you have a beautiful living room with lot of space but not utilised properly. My suggestions would be 1. Change the curtains to a lighter color fabric - cream/ beige / sandal (something with light shades that will allow the sunlight to pass through ) 2. When you enter the room you see the TV wall space. That TV setup needs totally new artistic frames to decorate. Get some colorful decor photo frames or quotes that will relate to your personality or your family. 3. There is a small cupboard attached to the TV set. Cover the top with a fabric that will match your window curtain. You can have any indoor plant on it which will add life to the room. 4. Comments (77)I feel partitions are not needed. You already have too much for the space. Adding a partition will shrink the space further. The simplistic solution, you do not wish to discard any furniture would be to paint all the walls in lighter pastles. And use some wall painting frames to highlight certain walls....See More

7 years agoI absolutely agree with Bailey R. That sideboard is gorgeous! I think the new chandelier and a contemporary rug will make a big difference. How about getting more modern chairs with very simple lines to offset the traditional table and sideboard.
