Thanks Pragati, it looked to me like some sort of high polished quartz stone and if this was the case there would be a way to hide these joints by filling them with an appropriate material and polish them thereafter. So I guess, the framing-idea with the LED-Strips which pollyannagal mentioned would be a good option. You could also tape some sort of accent-tape over the joints or even just LED-Strips to hide these ugly joints. Cheers Bertram

I would suggest you to go for either actual stone cladding or ceramic wall tiles. Natural stone cladding provides a rich look to your walls and last comparatively longer than wallpaper. Although initial cost might appear to high but in the long run, it is the cost-effective solution for your walls as it requires very low-maintenance. Going for wallpaper would not be a very nice option especially if you are looking for something long-lasting. They not only get damaged easily because of moisture or other factors but would also stain your wall when they come out. Ceramic tiles is also a nice option to go for. You can get a huge variety in terms of size, colour, pattern etc. If you are looking for not-so-expensive option then ceramic mosaic tiles is the viable option. However, you should know that ceramic tiles take quite a long time to warm up during winters and cool down during summers. Wooden Planks would make your interior look elegant but it is very susceptible to temperature change and can easily get damaged with water. Also it might not go too well with modern architecture. I am looking for Glass Hob, Vertical Glass Chimney and Built In Oven. I am getting mixed feedback across different forums so thought to reach here (impressed with some of the pointed comments so far). I am planning to choose between Bosch, Elica, Hafele and Faber. Can anyone please help ? I need to finalize it in next 3-4 days. I am purely going by the brand name (plus my previous experience with Bosch) so preferred the following 1). Bosch Glass Hob 2). Bosch Built In Oven (though it has aluminium burner but the one with brass burner 'Hafele/Elica' has the problem of making utensils black) 3). For chimney they do not offer 60cm Filter less chimney hence thinking to choose between Hafele or Elica. Please suggest if this is the right choice. Thanks in advance

SJ , With due respect to your personal choices, for a family of 6 this is certainly looking over the top. I would suggest you to cut down the TV units to 2 or 3. You may not need 25 seats for a closely knit family it looks like we are trying to create silos in the home where everyone just sticks to their rooms, with separate baths, accent chairs, study and TV units. I would recommend you to convert the NE bedroom's bath as a common one with entrance from living. You can then do away with powder room.
