Ideas for refurnishing living room
Comments (7)The wood is beautiful. To me, the wood has an oriental-Japanese-inspired vibe. This wall's paint is nice, if your can match. Here's a method of choosing wall paint: http://www.lindaholtinteriors.com/2011/07/testing-wall-color-101/ Can you keep just the curtain panels and remove the sheers? At a later time, a non-patterned curtain panel the color of wall. I saw the art and I think it is OK, but not for this room. Perhaps in a bedroom? I don't understand the theme you have going? Giraffes? Clocks? If you like clocks, remove the giraffes and buy something like a large round wrought iron "clock". Note also the rug, pillows & throw as inspiration for your room. Perhaps the TV console in a lighter tone wood like their end tables (your room = too much black)....See MoreNumber of sconces in a living room
Comments (8)Thanks for the comment .It was a gut feeling that the sconces are too many in dining area .Now as you suggested I will reduce them to only two sconces on the bigger wall of dining area and 2 sconces on the wall behind sofa . It's difficult to give new points on the window wall at the moment .However if that would look better than I can go for that. What do you think friends .Any other idea...See Moreredo my sofa and the living room in victorian style
Comments (2)Hi Geeta, Victorian theme is all about grandeur and elegance. Here are a few key design elements that would help you achieve the perfect look - 1] Pastel Walls and/or damask wallpapers are characteristic. 2] Wall Panelings for a two tone wall (as in the above picture) or as a pattern on the wall add character. 3] Large sized mirrors on walls work wonders. 4] Upholstery in rich fabrics and pastel colours also contribute immensely. You can also go for red or violet fabrics for a chair or two to add drama. And yeah, lost of cushions! 5] Mixed bag of furniture/ non modular furniture with white and golden polish for arms and legs. Polished teak also works well. 6] Decor items like figurines, vases, bracket lights and crystal chandeliers collected from second hand or antique shops. These days even well known home decor brands keep antique items. 7] Floor length american pleat curtains frame the openings and add layers to the walls. 8] Wooden flooring topped with carpets give the space a cozy feel. Tip: If you have space and a budget, do add a fireplace with a mantel. It will add an old world charm to the space. Hope these ideas inspire you. All the best!
