I'd go to a couple closet designers and email them your dimensions of the room - they'll need ceiling heights, depths from back of wall to door openings, position of any windows etc. access to attic (if needed) - you also need to do an inventory of what you want to store in your closet, like are you a shoe or handbag hound, or clothes hound, or more of a collector of fine jewellery and perfumes... You'll need to know your budget, and timeframe to completion. At 5'x5' you won't get an island, but you can go up to ceiling and maximize on specialty inserts etc. Images of amazing closet designs to inspire - from obvious high end to cost effective...good luck!

I'm no pro, but I'm curious-does this apartment exist? It reminds me of a project my husband took in an elective class, Intro to architecture, where he was required to design a living space as part of his final grade (Or is it some sort of student housing??) I'm asking because 1) All of the bedrooms are the same size and are isolated from each other, 2) the dining area at 10 x10 in the middle is going to be a corridor and you'll have almost no space for a table and chairs. 3) Then also all the bathrooms are ONLY accessed through the closets, which is extremely awkward for visitors. As far as the bedrooms, not necessarily an exciting choice, but your easiest choice is a bed against the toilet wall, with at least one nightstand, and a dresser on the wall by the door.

Hi, softyjane. You have a very pretty sheet set, and seem to like pink, so let's begin with a fresh coat of pink on all four walls. If someone can build you a little shelf to sit in the window, you could paint a basket, too, and put all your small items in it. Your food tray would make a nice picture background in the window. Then, some hooks on the right wall to hang your bags from will make things a bit roomier. White trim at the window will make it seem bigger, as well. If someone can do carpentry work for you, then you can create even more space by raising your bed high and making a loft bed with it. then you will have room below to put whatever you like - a chair, a desk, shelves - and place a curtain or bead strands in front for privacy. For the living room, the focus should be the balcony area. So flipping the couch to face the wall and not the dining table will help. Kind of like this pic. Even if you already have the sectional that is in the diagram, you should be able to flip it. In fact a sectional would probably work better than the couch in this pic. I also really don't like the style of this pic, but it showed what I meant, For the girls' room: No matter which bedroom you choose, you should maximize floor space so that they have the biggest play space possible in their room (as they get older you can add desks for school work and such). To get this space, I would give them bunk beds. This configuration gives them an open feel and more storage, essential for girls. You posted two different kitchen designs. This makes it hard to give you advice. I agree with other posts that your sink should be away from the wall. This allows you to have stuff to the left of you (drying dishes in my house), while you wash vegetables on the right of the sink. You need the same space on both sides of the stove, also. At least 24 inches on both sides is good. 36 is better, though. The first design has a nice little countertop space that adds a place for your daughters a space to sit a watch/ talk to you while you're in the kitchen. When they added this to the first design, you lost cabinets on the other wall. This is bad, as the space is already storage limited. Try making the rounded countertop bump out into the living space more. If you play with the shape, you could make it work without losing the cabinets on the other side. It doesn't have to be rectangular or a perfect circle. You can see how this one isn't confined to the floor plan of the kitchen. I think this is what you would need to do to make it the most functional.
