You have all the reasons to redo the house, its very lifeless and looks worn out. I feel creating a separation will terminate the spaciousness of the room. Adding colours will surely help, Since you have a tan color sofa,I suggest grey, white or light blue color on one of the walls. Add some art works of the color you chose for the wall. This room needs some fillers like , books, throws, candle stands tall and lean. YES DON FORGET 1. Mount the tv on the wall make some space on the floor and Fix a large size mirror ( Wooden Frame if you can afford).

Keep the rug and coffee table in its current configuration, place the sofa either facing the window or with its back to the window, and put the two chairs opposite it. Finally, the dining area. Now that you've moved the big leather chairs, you should have enough room. Your rug is too small. It should be big enough to give you at least a 2 ft. border all the way around when the chairs are pushed in. And it's a really beautiful table; please uncover it. I can't see what kind of lighting that area has. It really needs a pendant or chandelier hanging directly over the table.

If you are referring to the cable being visible, or the approach to route it under the sofa would not work, there are two options: Align the table so that the "backless" back is up against the side of the sofa. So, flip it 90deg compared to the image of a sample sofa and this table posted earlier. The cable can be stuck along the curved edge of the table on the back, so that it is not visible. This way, it gets down to the floor along a surface that people cannot see as opposed to dangling through the hollow portion of the table.
