Need help picking hardwood colors
Comments (0)Hi, I have a montez leather sofa http://kasala.com/products/montez-leather-sofa It is the charcoal color - but sort of looks like a really rich dark grayish brown. And I have a matson coffee table found here: http://www.plummers.com/living/accenttables/matson-i-coffee-table/3626 These two look really nice on carpet floors, which is when I had purchased these. Now, I have a new place, and planning to put hardwood floors, and really confused about what would look good even with an area rug added. The coffee table has really rich wood like grains, and I'm not able to wrap my head around what would be a nice color. I tend to really like dark walnut shades with mild distress, and enough grain variations that damages are not visible. This particular one looks really elegant in person. http://www.ernesthemingwayfloors.com/trail-creek-buckskin-floor.php It doesn't look very rustic, and the distress on the hardwood is visual, and the floor itself is very smooth (very mild distress). Any suggestions on the floor color selection would be really helpful!! Thanks, Srikar...See MoreCurtain color
Comments (4)The drapes don't necessarily have to be "matchy-matchy" with the wall but they should compliment one another. If you are concerned with the drapes looking outdated overtime or if you choose to change you paint colour in the future then I would suggest getting some neutral earth tones. Depending on the style you're looking for (ex. linen, silks, sheers, modern vs. traditional, etc.)...See Morehelp me pick a color palette
Comments (6)Light Sheer Curtains will look good, do not forget to add a pelmet to cover the ugly rods . Either have wells stitched curtains or buy good ones which fall well. The beauty of a curtain is not only in the colour , but also the type of fabric and the stitching quality. Do not compromise on any of these. You can have a light 1/2" grey trim vertically on the ends of the curtains also, this will define the curtain space. The cushions can be silk plain ivory long cushions, ideally 16"x 12" . Do think of having a nice jute breathable rug again in a greyish ivory combination. A few good ethnic floor lamps will bring out the beauty in place. An extra tip would be to invest in good ceiling lighting...See MoreGuidance for choosing curtain color
Comments (6)Hello Aishwarya, The curtains need not match your sofa fabric. It will be an overkill. Please go with light colored curtains with hints/patterns of blue. Instead of two transparent curtains have two layered curtains the inner one (sheer) allows day light inside and the second layer cuts down all the light. You may go with full height curtains rather than window height ones. Thanks, Amit Cornerstone Designs Bangalore...See Morepandabear12
