There is contrast between the traditional furniture and the focal point of the floor which pops, draws attention. I would recover the sofas in cream colored soft fabric - suede. I would leave the curtains grey, and put down a large neutral area rug. The edges of the room would show the pattern of the floor. I would color the wall and add texture to it, but not too dark as the room will appear smaller. Add a picture and put a nice plant holder, large vase in the left corner of the room - an oriental-style vase. Or, a cream-stripe fabric on the sofas. You could go soft or bold in this room - depending on your taste.

What soft furnishings do you have. You could pic out one or two colours as an accent colour and use that as your Base for the curtains. I currently have cream hessian walls and have a duck egg blue and chocolate curtains. I'm currently making matching Oxford cushion covers for the settees . If you can't find what your looking for ready made buy the fabric and have bespoke curtains made for you.

Hello there, You have chosen a beautiful shade of yellow for an accent wall. You could install some decor on that wall carrying white/ neutral accents. Second, the curtains needs to be replaced with white/beige blinds or you could install white printed curtains from 2-3' above window sill till floor to create an illusion of space. Third, sofa set could be accented with cobalt blue, emerald green, fuchsia pink, ivory whites, mint etc. to create a sophisticated yet relaxing ambience. Fourth, cushions could be contrasted with colors same as the wall. Graphical and geometric patterns are recommended. Fifth, being most important, upgrade your lighting from led bulbs to 20W led tubelights. They will cover a larger area. Hi Justin, the picture shared by you speaks of subtle & restrained aesthetic. Try to build monochromatic color scheme i.e.. shades & tones of same color family for this area for sophisticated look. You may paint a small patch of wall with sample of paint color in "Taupe" or "Beige" in 2 or 3 variations & see which looks better during day or night. Then choose curtains in light neutral tone of same color family. And don't forget to add some accessories to bring the space alive. Hope this helps you.
