White Wood Floors vs Dark Wood Floors (help, please!)
I'm starting the renovations on my townhouse. The space, as you can see, is long and narrow with some natural light. I'm am putting in hardwood floors but am struggling to pick a wood floor color. Choices are white wood or light, natural wood. I don't own any living room or dining room furniture, so I'm not limited to a certain style.
Wall color will be a white grey or light grey!

Comments (2)You have three different laminate floors. If you want unity, you need to decide what will give you unity faster. The floors are close enough to ignore there differences. Without seeing the wardrobe units I can only guess what will work best. Comments (9)Hello, I feel that you can design this bedroom by having 1 opaque wall at the back, and 3 transparent walls using glass & steel or glass & wooden french doors. The walls should be white, with minimal accents of blue or green, use 2 layers of curtains with sheer, and brass hanging lamps. All doors can be white PU paint. 3 years agoI just went through this with our reno. I ended up going natural to keep the lovely warm tones and grain of the wood, without darkening my space that can be somewhat dark. I have been really happy with the product, price and help I’ve gotten from Heidelberg flooring! (White oak, “Shalke” color) I’m sorry I don’t have better photos right now. I can take more, if you want.

2 years agolast modified: 2 years agoIf you want an open, bright, light and airy feel, go with a light or natural color wood. Not a fan of the white personally. Light wood floors also suit farmhouse/rustic and coastal styles. Brown floors will make the room a bit darker and create a slightly more traditional look. What look do you want?
Personally, I am at the closing stages of a new build and had to reselect wood floors due to supply issues. I had originally selected a mid-tone brown oak floor called brownstone oak. https://www.mohawkflooring.com/engineered-wood/detail/14848-183013/Metropolitan-Chic-Brownstone-Oak. I had an opp to upgrade but had to choose to go darker or lighter. My 2 choices are in the 1st pic. I opted to go lighter because I wanted a more modern, transitional and coastal look, and wanted the room to feel bright and light. The contrast to my island kitchen cabinet was also a factor. Just my 2 cents and experience for what it’s worth.
