“Icos Gardening & Landscape Work Provided: Front yard renovation which comprised of sod removal, front porch courtyard with seating wall blocks, driveway extension, concrete step pathway, decorative concrete curbing, water efficient irrigation, drainage, and flower bed planting. PROS: Reasonable cost. Very flexible in accommodating slight to moderate changes throughout the project. Project doesn't feel rushed. They take time to make sure quality of workmanship. They maintained a clean working environment and always perform clean up at the end of the working day.”

“Jay and Allstate were great. We purchased a new house with a fairly small backyard. We had a couple of "must haves" but a boatload of "what do we do here's" if you know what I mean. Jay worked with us and helped us get just what we wanted. It turned out perfect. The process was pretty painless. We went through a few plan changes and material choices, but once they got started they worked on it until it was complete. We're very happy with the results. We would recommend them highly.”

“I've enlisted Deanne Dalton to be my architect and navigate the approval process at Santa Clarita City Hall and the other agencies involved in issuing the required permits to build a new house and attached garage/shop on a raw site. Her job includes bringing together the many professionals needed to get a permit. At this point in time, the plans have been approved and we are waiting on one thing to get the building permit. I had a career in real estate appraising and heard the bad stories about dealing with contractors. However, I had absolutely NO IDEA that the City and other agencies would be so difficult to navigate! That's why you don't see custom houses being built in Santa Clarita. That my project has gotten to this point is a testament to Deanne's tenacity, the people she knows, her persuasive skills, her knowledge of the process, and high ethical standards. Deanne gave me a very reasonable price and, despite having gone thru hell to get us this far, she has never even hinted that she wanted to renegotiate our services contract. She has always had my back and once reminded me that I'd already paid a bill that I was ready to pay again. Despite it all I've never seen her upset. She responds to all my calls. I'm quite sure I would have eventually bailed on this project had I hired any of the other architects I'd interviewed for this job. She has a good sense of humor and a quick laugh. Thanks, Deanne, for pushing me down the road and not giving up!!!”

“We were so lucky to find Julie. Our landscape project had a lot of challenges that were overcome by Julie's knowledge of what plants thrived on hillsides, in acid soil, in the sun, in the shade, in pots, knowing the right variety of the same plant that would not be too big or too small for the spot, and knowing the right color and texture combinations to compliment each plant. Now throw in that we wanted a tropical landscape. Julie not only has the plant knowledge, she knows where she can get the plants. We needed other professionals for our project and her referrals were all great because she only makes referrals of people she has worked with and knows their high standards of workmanship. Julie can be counted on to show up on time and be there to help you make the right choices. We have her come back every year for our fall and spring planting and would highly recommend her to anyone. “I have worked with Jayne of Gates and Croft for over 10 years. She has always done a remarkable job. She takes great pride in her work and makes sure everything is in exactly the right place. I live on a 2 acre property so there is always more landscaping that can be done. Jayne is always up for the challenge. What makes her unique is the variety of plants she chooses. They are different than what I see everywhere else and they are always beautiful and interesting.
