This family of six (including two golden retrievers) requested washable bedding without giving up the luxury of a "grown up" master bedroom. This is a luxurious cotton velvet that can easily be thrown in the wash at home!

The master bedroom’s traditional four-poster bed just needed to wake up a little. Red lamps with curvy bases, natural baskets under the bed and a fresh color palette add just the right modern touches. We added a caramel colored coverlet at the foot of the bed and architectural prints flank the sides. The simple shape of the nightstands offsets the formality of the bed and adds a fresh note.

This room just wasn’t working until Leslie Landis showed us how to rearrange the furniture. Simply rotating the bed 90 degrees magically created enough space to have the reading nook of my dreams!

CHALLENGE
To create a compelling design statement that not only captures the quintessential character of a country French estate within a single room, but also serves as inspiration for other areas throughout.
SOLUTION
Every design detail was chose to envelop the occupant with a sense of luxury compatible with the personality of the estate.
Lush custom draperies and luxurious cashmere bedding enhance the “historic” feeling of the four-poster bed.
Art, carefully chosen to fit comfortably into the theme, includes nine hand-blown custom glass panels, Jamali painting on cork, and two gilded 24-karat paintings.
Eclectic furnishings complete the country French concept with engaging visual interest.

Upstairs, the new master suite becomes a spacious adult retreat overlooking the rear yard. Calming tones of pale green are paired with light woods and soft fabrics to create a serene environment for rest and relaxation.

Perhaps the most relaxing space in the house is this lovely bedroom, where our client himself finds
his centre on the daily.
Rattan elements complement the tranquil neutrals used here. Sheer curtains add to the romance.
The slender fluted panelling in the grey wall behind the bed is amplified in the wall across. In a
corner, is a desk and another Chandigarh chair.
This wondrous home has all the feels of a highway rest house, a boutique homestay, a writer’s abode
and a sea side watchtower merged into one.
