This elegant garden functions as an outdoor living room, with textured plantings in shades of green as the walls of the space. The existing patio was extended with a grid of concrete pavers; warm-colored flagstone was re-used and introduced into the new seating area to play off the geometry as a touch of wabi sabi. The same honey-colored tones are seen in the river stones surrounding the central cassia tree. The focal point of the space is a sculpture by Los Angeles potter Adam Silverman. Photo by Martin Cox

"The wine room features traditional Moroccan Architectural shapes and are used in layers: U-shaped plaster passageways, built-in wood banquette with carved eight-point star detailing, wall of hand cut glazed Zilliji tile and pierced tin lanterns from the homeowners recent travels to Turkey, and further echoed in the geometric pillow fabrics and the contemporary Alhambra style painted cocktail table from Morocco." -California Homes Furnishings available at Cabana Home Interior Design by Cabana Home

This is a 15' tree decorated only with lights---so there had to be about a million of them. I lost count! We utilized nothing but fresh greens to decorate both inside and out. We introduced new ribbon and some new ornaments but primarily worked with Christmas decorations collected by our client over the last 30 years. It was so fun to discover all that she had and mix it with some new as the start of some new traditions. Photos by Steve Eltinge, Eltinge Photography

Located upon a 200-acre farm of rolling terrain in western Wisconsin, this new, single-family sustainable residence implements today’s advanced technology within a historic farm setting. The arrangement of volumes, detailing of forms and selection of materials provide a weekend retreat that reflects the agrarian styles of the surrounding area. Open floor plans and expansive views allow a free-flowing living experience connected to the natural environment.
