Your right. I think it might look better without the couch. We just purchased the gray couch and moved the brown couch there until we sell it. Now that the brown couch is there my husband likes it. He likes to read his newspaper in the morning on it. I was thinking of putting a side table in place of the couch of getting a cover for it.

Susan, I find that people often make their coffee tables too low and too small. Measure the height of your sofa cushion and pick a coffee table that is a similar height. Also, in the layout you posted above the room would look better with a larger coffee table. Even as long as your sofa, or close to it. Let me know if you need one custom built, it easier to get the right thing for your room than you may think. just sharing the colors of the furniture the grey is going to be the body of the sofa and back cushions...the purple is the color of two small cushions which will be on the sofa.. what curtains do I think will go with these colors
