Thanks for your valuable suggestion. The only problem in having a TV unit against the wall is that, the path to the kitchen will be from front of the TV. :(

What's the question? Are you looking for advice on placement or suggestions as to what to buy? Is the space shown include the dining space or is that not in this photo?

Another idea would be to draw the floorplan in scale on a piece of paper. Draw basic furniture on another paper and cut them out. Play with the furniture to see what could work for your family. Imagine yourself walking around in it (about 90cm wide walkways) and doing your daily business (hobbies and such). Also think about the sun shining in. And meanwhile create some ideabooks on here with styles and interiors you like. Use as many searchword combinations as you can come up with. Good luck!
