You have a great opportunity to go eclectic. So using very modern and colourful elements for the kitchen - modern storage cannisters, a vase, lights, toaster, even mixer, you start to introduce shocks of colour and shape that jar with the expectations in a traditional kitchen. Rowe Furniture has very clean line sofas that I think would be an appropriate scale for this room. LOVE the red feature wall. You do need to bring the red into the room but knowing how you want the room to feel can help determine a color palette. If you want the room to have energy and "pop", try a split-complementary or triadic color scheme. If you want it to be more relaxed and harmonious, I would suggest an analogous color scheme.

Try microfiber as it is easy to clean and take care of. If you are worried about stains, try an indoor/outdoor fabric like Sunbrella. I recommend Ultra Guard fabric protection in lieu of Scotch Guard. Stay away from loops and chenilles if you are worried about your dogs and their claws. Solid colors tend to show stains and pet hair, so try looking for patterns or multicolored fabrics. Hope that helped!

Apologies Pro, for speaking on her behalf but I guess she is referring to the alignment of the sofa and TV unit and the viewing angle. If the sofa is placed on the orange wall it has to be done after leaving the door space where as TV is place very near to the wall. Secondly, it will be too much of a viewing distance.
