Living room dilemma
Comments (12)It looks like there are windows on the two walls adjacent to the fireplace, so I'll take your word for it that the TV can't go anywhere else. You make a focal wall by putting on it things you want to look at. I would clear the mantel, install built ins, get a lighter and bolder graphic rug, and pull the seating in closer. Before I did any of that, though, I'd see about improving the light. More lighting, or maybe just warmer color temperature bulbs....See MoreHow to divide this big living space into living, dining and a lounge?
Comments (4)Given the very large living area, the USP of this apartment, there are a variety of screens available which can be used creatively, mobile or fixed, see through, translucent or opaque, full height or part, etc to divide the spaces and yet give a free flowing look of a large open space, the light and views from the large windows....See MoreLiving room - Need suggestions for door and wall design
Comments (7)Priyanka, Wallpaper on doors is not a good idea. You can go for laminate panelling on the wall and matching laminates on the doors. You can choose a veneer as well. The space is too wide for a single door though. You will have to plan accordingly. I am assuming you are talking about the brown door and not the other black door in picture. Comments (13)Hi Sarita, We would suggest three options - 1] You may place your sofas parallel and opposite to each other leaving the space in between to access the balcony. Not the best facilitation but it will give you an unobstructed space. Or you may place an L shaped sofa in front of the balcony door but leave space between the two for passage. This will help bring the sofa closer to the tv and leave you with easy access to the balcony. You can also put the tv unit on the left wall with a set of sofas in front. 2] Put a partition between the living and dining space that would house the tv unit on one side and the dining table on the other. This will screen the dining area and allow you to place your sofa(s) more flexibly and without obstructing the balcony. It would however make the dining area look a bit cramped. 3] Avoid putting the tv unit in the living space altogether. Put tv in your bedrooms instead. This will ensure privacy to the viewers even when there are guests over. You may also convert a bedroom into a tv room if you don't need it so that your formal and informal spaces stay separate. Hope these ideas help. Regards, RnD Atelier Nagpur...See MoreChristine Harrison Fine Art and Mosaics
