Comments (1)The best way to make a small space look larger is to avoid the tendency to add in too much furniture, or make it too large-scale. You need pieces that offer you enough seating, but with smaller profiles in both your living and dining space. Look for multi-functional pieces with storage, keep the wall color the same in areas that flow together, and use the walls for vertical storage and display instead of relying only on freestanding pieces. Look for furniture retailers that advertise "apartment size furniture," and see Houzz Photos under "small space living" and "vertical storage? for ideas. You can use art, an area rug or similar to decide your color scheme. Your apartment really isn't that small, fortunately, by big-city standards....See MoreSmall Living Room layout dilemma
Comments (3)I'd do option 2 myself. Technically I see an option 3- putting the couch out in the open, diving the two spaces. Couches don't need to be on a wall- you'd just need a smaller couch to do that and still have space to pass through to the other room....See MoreNeed suggestions for living room layout.
Comments (2)Hi Ajinkya,. you have a fairly straightforward and neat plan. I will suggest the TV position on the wall adjacent to the door in living area. Never have TV opposite a window since glare can disrupt viewing quality. Dining can be tucked at the corner where dining area is mentioned with a nice concole unit which can have crockery storage etc. and top of the console can have accessories and a painting flanked with bracket lights. avoid hydraulic table since it looks ugly and boxy on the wall. Get a chic and elegant rectangular table with a chandelier or hanging lights. Sofa can be 6' approx. Get a single 6' long sofa with a day bed adjacent to it so that you can move as you want. get a nice sleek center table with a rug in the center. TV unit can be designed and will become a feature of your home since it's getting an entire wall. some examples of our work and Pinterest options are below....See Morejck910
