We are in Sarasota which is close to Tampa. We have removed granite from jobs before but we can never guarantee that it will come out without cracking or breaking. This is especially true if we did not do the original installation. A previous installer may have been able to do an install with a break or crack in the granite but can not been seen so it may not present itself until you try to remove it. All installers differ also in how much adhesive they use in installation. Some feel the weight inself is almost enough to hold them in place and use just a few dabs, others run a solid line on the cabinetry when installing making it much harder to seperate them from the existing cabinets.
We agree with Inndesign. We do counter top removals on a daily basis. There is always a risk of cracking the stone, or damaging the wood it is attached to. However, it is very doable, as long as the right professionals, like us, do it.
