Brown kitchen updates

We painted the whole interior Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray with pure white trim, updated to Calcutta Quartz, a large stainless undermount sink and simple white subway tiles.

A great update! Those are very pretty counters!

I also like your new stools - the previous ones blocked the view - almost made the island look two-tiered.

A soft, warm grey shade would look lovely, and can be as dark or light as you want. A warmer shade will work with the brown stained wood floor, and the grey will complement the black granite. You could have an undertone of green, blue or tan if you didn't want a pure grey. And it would look nice with any silver metal hardware, either polished or satin/brushed, so you could choose pewter, chrome or nickel. It would still work with white trim too.

Take photos of your cabinets and space with you when you shop for granite. Another Idea is to visit Home Depot or Lowes and buy some Single 12x12 granite tiles as samples just to get an idea of what might work. They have lots of choices. Not exactly what you want but close enough to help you zero in. The tiles can then be returned.

Your choices don't flow well to me. The flooring in your photo is pretty (very dark...are you okay with it showing every footprint, smudge, and dust bunny? If so, that's fine). From all of your options there I would do white cabinets with the Himalaya White granite. But you said ignore the granite. :) I would go for the gray cabinets with white quartz everywhere in that case, but personally I'd worry about gray cabinets being very dated in a few years. Is there another quartz option that you could pair with the white cabinets that is light in color and maybe has some movement, like LG Bianco Drift?

Beautiful refresh!

Maintaining the wood finish on the cabinets keeps the space warm and inviting. Incorporating the lighter countertop and eliminating the dark backsplash were an effective way to brighten and update the space.

I have brown cabinets as well (similar color to yours) and am looking for a new wall paint color. I will definitely consider Edgecomb Grey after seeing your pictures! I too have white subway tile but mine has a subtle crackle - it looks like snow. Great job!
