Thank you for your question. The counter top is granite and is called super white granite. We chose this because it looks like carrara marble, but is not as porous and requires less maintenance. Super white has been listed as granite and marble on the internet. Another Houzz user asked what material does our source list super white as, and they list it as granite. Technically it's a dolomite which is closer to a marble. Not as soft as a typical marble, however similar properties. Meaning that it is possible to etch it from food acids. I would recommend getting this stone in a honed finish to help hide the etching marks that will occur if you decide to install this type of stone in a kitchen. I hope this helps.
