i need help for my formal living and unformal living and dinning
Comments (300)I think a comfortable distance between the island and the counter is around 42". It seems that you have only 30" between your cook top and the counter. I might be a little too tight. The wall between the entrance and the kitchen could be 4' long instead of 6', you would then be able to move the island a foot which would give you more room between the cook top and the island. Could you switch the location of the toilet and vanity in your dad's bathroom so your enter facing a vanity instead of a toilet which is a lot nicer....See MorePlan
Comments (12)Thanks for clarifying Sneha. Its a north facing property so the TV unit is placed in north , are you willing to compromise on that if you need a pooja room in NE. Please include the directions in the plan to avoid confusion. A four seater dining may not be of much help as the width of the table remains approximately same its only the length that is reduced. We also need to maintain safe distance from the TV unit plus we have a french window on the west side. It may require some structural changes, in discussion with your designer, to the plan to accommodate a pooja room without compromising on the looks. Are you willing for that. Comments (8)Hello Adarsh, I can understand the need for a simple makeover for this room , given that you are a student, budget might also be a huge constraint for you. A few tips : Lighting is key, Invest in a good downlighter (not a tube) right above where you study, be sure that it is not placed above your head as there are chances you will have your shadow on your books. Buy a standard desk which is a minimum of 90 cms width, make sure it is clutter free (including your desktop ) use a pastel colour (suggest beige or light chocolate or tan)on the currently purple wall. Purple can sometimes be too strong and overpowering. (A reason why an interior designer has to be consulted when someone builds a house, everything that looks good on something else need not be the most appropriate on your walls ). Have some plain straightline bookshelves (you can get them online) on your wall that can help clear the clutter off your desk. Invest in a good ergonomic chair which can be tilted back or revolved as needed . A straight back chair will also do good to your posture. Have a small rug with some floor cushions on your floor for some floor reading area so that you dont have to plop yourself on the bed and then end up dozing off !! Hope this helps you Smitha...See MorePlywood thickness for wardrobes
Comments (12)Hello there, So much of discussion for the thickness of plywood? It always comes down to load bearing and shear strength (MOE and MOR) which is ensured in thicker plywoods. Hence, 19mm is apt for wardrobes. Second, doors should be of 25mm bloackboard / 19mm plywood but edge banding must overlap between laminates to prevent peeling/warping. Hence edge banding must be >=25 mm. The carpenter's choice for going slim and saving will result in you being penny wise and pound foolish.
