Living Room Home Decorating Dining Room

Please suggest ways to decorate this living cum dining room.

I need some detailed tips (maybe with pictures) from professionals about how to decorate this room in a way that it looks THE BEST. The dimensions are 12×8. Also, tell if the positions of the furniture needs to be changed. None of the furnished items can be removed, though they can be modified and also items can be added or even replaced. Advice colours and designs for curtains and Sofa and the perfect position of the TV cabinet, Dinning Table and the temple. My house is of 120 yards and has 2 Bedrooms, 1 Hall and Kitchen. Please suggest another place for the temple in the house. I hope that you all will help me. Thanks.

the best suggestion would be to contact a design professional or a cabinet company to assist you, as a project of this nature could take hours to design and refine and then the production time for the design needs to be over seen by a knowledgable person good luck....this is a for pay type of design issue

You will need space to walk and for your feet if you turn the chairs around - if you put a divider in you will block the view from the dining table out to the balcony - and thus make the kitchen and dining room both have no view ! So if you keep it open, the natural light can get through !

Hello there, you could use a textured vinyl wallpaper as a backdrop for entertainment unit as pictured right above. Your furniture is already eye catchy as it is near the entrance . You just need to plan the shape and color coordinated decor. Instead of using , go for a series of paintings and posters with a textured wall. Hi Rachna,

The room looks very cluttered and unorganized. First thing you need to do is to roughly draw the plan of your room on a paper and upload it for me to properly understand the layout. Also mention the current position of furniture. You can Google how to draft an existing room plan if you find it difficult to do it by yourself.

The images you shared do not provide all the information. Stand on the door and try to get the overall view of the whole room in a single click. Once you do that then we can discuss how to redecorate the room.

Hello Rachna,

We have gone through your posts. Please clarify the room size is it 12x8 or 16x9.3 .

Let's start from bottom line, what is the budget that you can spare now for the makeover. A lot of remodelling would depend upon the budget .BTW, I really appreciate your honesty about the affordability !

Coming back to the topic, I believe your TV unit is placed in a good position but other units will require movement. Please do confirm the size. Also how is the ceiling ..it looks like false ceiling is already done.

The correct size of room is 16 × 9.3 ft inches
and yes, false ceiling has been done.

My budget is 90 thousand to 1 lac rupees.

Hello Rachna,

Try to move the furniture as per the attached placement. Once space planning makes sense to you do the following.

1- Get a temple/crockery unit in the area marked next to Dining.

2- Change the curtains to light beige

3- Change the sofa upholstery to tan brown leatheratte.
