Recently I was Bangalore looking for some interesting pendant lighting and dining lamps, I found a variety of new ceiling fans cum light. They came in modern and rustic finishes. Some Italian and German makes very fab but expensive, you can find indigenous ones which are cost effective and efficient.

I mean that I want to put my stove in front of a window on the platform and the chimney or hood ventilation over it .what should be the height of a chimney over the stove .I mean I want to work standing in front of a window.

Can you post some pictures of your room. As to your question, if your ceiling is high enough that everything is out of the way of peoples' heads, I don't see why not.

Our contractors have used cement look grey matte tiles for one of the small guest bathrooms - without consideration of the amount of natural light coming in, which is very low. Makes the bathroom look small and dingy rather than rugged and industrial as expected. I have seen a few videos of people DIYing abroad, painting over bathroom tiles to brighten it up. Can it be done in India? Which type of paint would be ideal for this project? They are matte, stone/cement look smooth 1200x600 tiles with minimal grouting.
