Need help constructing cavities in the wall for pictures and books
Comments (4)Most regions have their own prevailing construction methods and materials that are common and customary to that region. It may be driven by the available raw materials, local labor and their experience with a certain type of construction, and the cost of labor to build. Other factors that drive the different type of construction can be pressures from the environment and climate conditions. One can create recesses in masonry or stone walls but there may be structural weaknesses that become a factor or just more complicated construction that becomes involved. Building recesses in heavy masonry walls verses light stick framed walls can be equally possible. Reducing the thickness of a wall can also affect the insulation capabilities of that wall as well as the structure....See MoreNeed ideas to decorate a wall in kitchen
Comments (9)Seems weird not to incorporate it into the design -- I'm all about having things "look intentional" rather than working around them later. Like could the island have connected to this, rather than extending past it? or been L-shaped, so there's room for an extra stool, and also a wall cabinet? Anyway, hard to discuss that in the abstract without kitchen plans. I'm with miacometlady's original advice to not worry about it right now, and decide how to deal with it once the bulk of your kitchen is in place. You might find that you hardly notice it, with all the beautiful new finishes, or it might seem obvious to put some stainless or glass shelves there, or maybe simple is best and one simple hanging picture does the job. Don't stress about it until After. :)...See MoreUniqueTV wall unit ideas
Comments (7)Hi Ash! Since the size of the room is not mentioned, I would suggest you to check out this video. And if the room is small in size, I would recommend you to opt for TV unit with floating shelves, as this will save the floor space to an extent. Hope this helps....See Moreneed idea for home office interior
Comments (11)Hi Pranav, Here are a few suggestions: 1] Modular Office furnitureThis would be easy to move around if and when you need to relocate in the future. Avoid fixed furniture wherever possible. 2] Kid's BedThese days you get convertible cots that "grow" with you child. The are a good investment and take lesser vertical space as compared to bunker beds. You may find these online as well as in stores selling kid's stuff. 3] Study TableThe study table can serve you as well you child if you want. Since, you child is pretty young you may use it for your own work, storage, devices and printers. In the image below the study is designed to serve both kids and adults. 4] WardrobeSince this is going to be a fixed and lasting furniture unit, invest well. You may make it sustainable by cladding it with wallpaper which can subsequently change as per your child's requirements. Kids grow fast and with them their choices and muses change rapidly. Wallpapers come handy in such a case as compared to laminates which are more permanent. Alternatively, you may opt for chalkboard laminates. These are low maintenance and can be written or drawn upon while being easily cleaned. The wardrobe can serve as a writing board for you too. This way both the purposes are served - yours and your kid's. Hope these ideas inspire you. All the best! Regards, RnD Atelier Nagpur...See MoreWing Feather Impressions
