Have you ever thought about floating shelves? I think pairing a few floating shelves together would look great and would free up space in your living room. I would go with something bold and bright. if it going to be laminate, make it fun like turquoise, or magenta or apple green. Then your gorgeous bed will be the star of the show. add a couple of items in the bedding that take that color and keep the rest of the bedding white. Why don't you troll Houzz first and build an idea book of anything you like for each room. Then go back and see if you notice a reoccurring furniture design, wood color, style ... Any kind of preference. Any of us can post three gorgeous rooms for you, but they will be a reflection of our taste and not yours.
