help for my ktchen
Comments (45)I have discussed your design with my family.I likes it. some suggestions shall I change the cook top and sink in the main kitchen to each other. Because according to our tradition we have to cook by facing East or North.the window side is the east. Similarly shall we move fridge to the right end of the kitchen.(to the south Side) then I can place the mixer at there where the fridge now is.Is it convenient .i don't know how to convince my family about this design. ours is an orthodox one. Its not a matter to be discussed here. I hope I can.Any way i like this...See MoreNeed help in designing interiror for open kitech for livinign room
Comments (3)will you have more cabinets instead of the puja? if the view from the windows is nice, i'd put the sink under a window, so you have something to look at when washing dishes/cleaning foodstuffs. as for arranging furniture, the way they have it, they must think you have a huge tv, to need to be so far back from it. my goodness. besides, the couch blocks the balcony! i'd turn that arrangement so that the tv is on the wall with the loveseat, but scooted away from the balcony door, and then arrange the furniture accordingly, making sure there's room to get to the balcony. turning the dining table 90° will give more chair room....See MoreNeed ideas to decorate a wall in kitchen
Comments (9)Seems weird not to incorporate it into the design -- I'm all about having things "look intentional" rather than working around them later. Like could the island have connected to this, rather than extending past it? or been L-shaped, so there's room for an extra stool, and also a wall cabinet? Anyway, hard to discuss that in the abstract without kitchen plans. I'm with miacometlady's original advice to not worry about it right now, and decide how to deal with it once the bulk of your kitchen is in place. You might find that you hardly notice it, with all the beautiful new finishes, or it might seem obvious to put some stainless or glass shelves there, or maybe simple is best and one simple hanging picture does the job. Don't stress about it until After. :)...See MoreNeed help with Granite and backsplash selection
Comments (12)actually, to brighten up this dark and small feeling space, i'd look for a creamy base colored stone like khasmir gold or ivory gold, being sure to add an overhang on the island (if you like movement in the stone check out juprana granite) then exchange the pot rack over the island with either a pair of great pendants or a statement chandelier. from my own kitchen remodel experience i'll share you with you this: you'll get a much better price from a granite company then you will from a large home store ;) and be sure to take a cabinet door with you to shop. you can continue the granite onto the wall as a backsplash...they can cut the stone and make it go higher up the wall than the standard 3 inches which can be a great look. but if you really want tile, go for something simple that won't compete with the granite....like a cream colored subway tile. you can apply thim in a running brick pattern or a more modern stacked geometric pattern or even a herringbone. to control staining from food prep, don't use a white grout, use a slightly darker grout color that is inspired from the stone countertop. just remember that using a pattern on the countertop and another pattern on the backsplash can easily become overwhelming and then neither element stands out as the focal point. if you are spending a lot on a granite countertop, do everything you can to make it stand out as the best feature....See MoreEllsworth Design Build
