Yes, JudyG that's exactly the way people were using the taller table. Sort of a café look, or casual bar setting. One home had a beautiful huge kitchen all done in white with dark wood floors and RH style fixtures and hardware. Where you would normally think would be a traditional dining room, they had made it up with a large high table and 6 barstools. It almost looked like an extension of the island. Another one was in a very open and light kitchen. It was smaller and where you might think of putting a breakfast nook they had a round café-style table with four barstools. I liked it because it gave a more casual appearance. If people were sitting at them, they were on the same level as those working in the kitchen. Almost like a bar at the island for that effect, but with some separation.

Congratulations to all of you. Its a wonderful platform to be on and you all are doing a great Job. My favourite Design Style is 'Minimal'. I just have this strong connection with simple, subtle and elegant things. Cheers:)

Hello Rachna, We have gone through your posts. Please clarify the room size is it 12x8 or 16x9.3 . Let's start from bottom line, what is the budget that you can spare now for the makeover. A lot of remodelling would depend upon the budget .BTW, I really appreciate your honesty about the affordability ! Coming back to the topic, I believe your TV unit is placed in a good position but other units will require movement. Please do confirm the size. SJ , With due respect to your personal choices, for a family of 6 this is certainly looking over the top. I would suggest you to cut down the TV units to 2 or 3. You may not need 25 seats for a closely knit family it looks like we are trying to create silos in the home where everyone just sticks to their rooms, with separate baths, accent chairs, study and TV units. I would recommend you to convert the NE bedroom's bath as a common one with entrance from living. You can then do away with powder room. SE bath has a wardrobe inside the bath, I wonder why would you need that. It may not be a ideal placement. Thanks, Nitin CORNERSTONE DESIGNS Bangalore.
