Kitchen design suggestions rectangular :-/
Comments (19)Hi , I think if ever you want to sell this property in the future - you will need to follow Vastu guidelines in the design at this point - otherwise this may hinder resale. Assuming that the architect has followed this and the plan is set - I would suggest you use colours and artwork to create the look that you are after ... Also consider shelving going across the full window wall - this will give you extra storage and also somewhere to grow herbs etc in front of the window - maybe even have a deeper shelf at worktop height and a stool infront of the window ? If you do a picture search on elements that you would like to add - ie kitchen "turquoise accessories" or kitchen "gold" etc you will get lots of inspirational images to help you get an attractive kitchen ... Best of luck with it all ! :-)...See Morewhat type of chimney will best suit my kitchen
Comments (24)@corner Stone designs. sorry if I had given an impression it mud slinging. but objectively speaking the suggestion to go for a chimney just because someone asked for it instead of addressing the real issue us not what I intended to do. one has to understand all the negatives as well veggie going in for a decision . just like you have the right to suggest there is nothing wrong in pointing out the issues in the proposed solution. none of us are internet warriors but most of us are "sold" items that we will never need in our life by creating an illusion. I know that dinner call it business but I am not in such one and I have the luxury to call a spade a spade. Even now the person who asked for is not sure in what they want but they think that a chimney will solve the issue. engineering doesn't work that way. unless we know what the real issue us, which isn't clear if it is the smoke or the smell and the your of food cooked, the frequency, the 80/20 utility of the kitchen we are not even close to understanding the problem. my intent is to emphasize the importance of understanding the problem and then look for issue and not provide a ready made solution. we can all suggest something by seeing a picture that fire will come and catch the chef if it is located in the window but do you think that what you say is practical. you may construct this as much slinging be as a novice I have a genuine question. how many houses have such a fire accident. we don't even know if the stove is electric or gas. if it is electric then they just no question of fire. so I encourage you to objectively approach and not see this as a mud slinging thing as that's not the point....See MoreNeed suggestions on kitchen design
Comments (4)Hi...17' by 18' for kitchen is bit more and u hav not said its only kitchen or open kitchen including dining too. Anyway as of now i'll say some vaastu tips and suggestions first. Keep stow at SOUTHEAST (agni)corner. Keep hand wash sink at NORTHEAST corner and also fix water filter in this corner to wall. Keep grinder/mixer at SOUTHWEST corner. Could also place refrigerator at this corner because SOUTHWEST corner is suited for heavy loads/weight. Above stove could fix exhaust fan or smoke chimney to drive smoke out. Make sure all plug points are neatly planned as per equipment requirements. If u hav own borewell make an tap at ur sink in which direct borewell water comes (optional) Make wood cabin in such that it reaches ur hand easily for very much frequent usages. Hope u r bit ok as of now...See MoreHelp requested for redesigning my kitchen
Comments (9)Thanks for your input Nitin. Much appreciated. If you could help me out with: 1. What material should one use for overhead cabinets & for base cabinets? Anywhere I can look online for colour combinations? 2. What company shelves/ pantry etc to use? Intend using SS. Have heard of Hettich, etc, but which of them is value for money? 3. What chimney would you suggest? Ducted or ductless?? Any recommendations for vendors ? 4. How effective are graphite sinks or are steel ones better? 5. Flooring - glossy to match with dining room as this is an open kitchen or matt finish ceramic tiles? Wud prefer something that dries faster with less mess. Thanks a ton....See MoreCarolina
