I agree whole heartedly. I also agree on starting with the bed. The bed should be the "hero" of the room. Night stands are always needed, but even they do not need to match. Then figure out exactly what you NEED for storage in the bedroom. There is no rule that you have to own a dresser if you store all of your clothes in the closet. Will you have a TV in the room? How do you plan to view it? From a sitting area, in bed? A sideboard with storage or a media center may be a better choice for you. Do you have a seating area, or at least a chair you can sit on and tie youe shoes or put on socks. Buy furniture for your specific needs, buy the best quality for the work horse pieces you can afford. Don't forget lighting, and a mirror of some sort. Look at the photos of Master Bedrooms here on Houzz, you'll get an inspiration for mixing and maybe land on a style that appeals to you. Hi Ni, I just thought of something....did you say you planned to do the stencil motifs on the window wall? If so, I am thinking they will be mostly hidden by the curtains. I wonder if it might be better to stencil the long wall that is on the right side of the room when looking toward the window. I could see this being a pretty backdrop to the prayer box (I think that’s what you called it?) and your wood cuttings. Then maybe the opposite wall (the one with the kitchen doorway) could hold a large piece of art?

Hi Cornerstone, I read your feedback 1. Profile handles I was late as the doors were already ready and it was too much of re-work. Regarding putting handles 2. Sharp edge can cause problem thats why the handles I have put are rounded on the edge not to hurt. 3. Where I did make a mistake was Did not put fillers. If I had put fillers on the sides the door issues could be resolved The upper cabinet handles. This is actually not my fault I had told them to put the handles in the center but they thought these are not drawers but rather cabinets so they should be put in the location where we put the vertical handles. By the time I came to check it was too late and now I am stuck. I am thinking of putting maybe 8inch handles instead of current 5inch but not sure if that would help to improve the look.
