need help for my kitchen
Comments (8)Not sure what we're looking at here - is this the entire kitchen area? Why aren't their any drawers? Range goes where? Be careful with installing your cabinets too high - will you have difficulty reaching the second shelf? I'm only 5'3" so placing cabinets 24" off counter top puts me at a great disadvantage. Sorry eagledzines! Check out Hafele cabinet hinge options and see if you can incorporate any of those.......See MoreKitchen design suggestions rectangular :-/
Comments (19)Hi , I think if ever you want to sell this property in the future - you will need to follow Vastu guidelines in the design at this point - otherwise this may hinder resale. Assuming that the architect has followed this and the plan is set - I would suggest you use colours and artwork to create the look that you are after ... Also consider shelving going across the full window wall - this will give you extra storage and also somewhere to grow herbs etc in front of the window - maybe even have a deeper shelf at worktop height and a stool infront of the window ? If you do a picture search on elements that you would like to add - ie kitchen "turquoise accessories" or kitchen "gold" etc you will get lots of inspirational images to help you get an attractive kitchen ... Best of luck with it all ! :-)...See MoreKitchen makeover design
Comments (18)I would consider putting cabinets on the short wall where the utility wall is. Have your stove there centered on the area. Move the sink so it is centered on the long wall where the cooktop is now. Put the fridge on the end run of cabinets closest to the dining table. That will give you an L shape kitchen with a nice work triangle. If you have your heart set on an island remove all the wall cabinets and install a large island. This is not the style of your kitchen but it does show the layout I described above. L shape cabinetry with stove on short end, sink in the middle with DW to right of sink with cabinet above it for dish storage and the refridgerator on the end run so it is out of work triangle and conveniet to the dining area for serving or work triangle for prep and cooking. Island can be any style you desire. L shape with island and open across from island; you might consider this layout if you desire an island. Comments (24)@corner Stone designs. sorry if I had given an impression it mud slinging. but objectively speaking the suggestion to go for a chimney just because someone asked for it instead of addressing the real issue us not what I intended to do. one has to understand all the negatives as well veggie going in for a decision . just like you have the right to suggest there is nothing wrong in pointing out the issues in the proposed solution. none of us are internet warriors but most of us are "sold" items that we will never need in our life by creating an illusion. I know that dinner call it business but I am not in such one and I have the luxury to call a spade a spade. Even now the person who asked for is not sure in what they want but they think that a chimney will solve the issue. engineering doesn't work that way. unless we know what the real issue us, which isn't clear if it is the smoke or the smell and the your of food cooked, the frequency, the 80/20 utility of the kitchen we are not even close to understanding the problem. my intent is to emphasize the importance of understanding the problem and then look for issue and not provide a ready made solution. we can all suggest something by seeing a picture that fire will come and catch the chef if it is located in the window but do you think that what you say is practical. you may construct this as much slinging be as a novice I have a genuine question. how many houses have such a fire accident. we don't even know if the stove is electric or gas. if it is electric then they just no question of fire. so I encourage you to objectively approach and not see this as a mud slinging thing as that's not the point....See Moreajccac
