Need help for L-shaped, Living, Dining, Kitchen combo

I have a L shaped area, where I want to put living room, dining and kitchen. The L-shaped area also acts as the entry point to other bedrooms and utility area. Please see the attached photo for details. How to utilise this area so that I get good storage in kitchen and it looks modern? I am a novice on design front. Really appreciate your help.

attached basic floorplan will give the maximum kitchen storage with space for bar stools..all other furniture is flexible and can be rearranged to suit windows that aren't on the plan?

@oklouise Thanks for helping out. This one looks good. Would a L-shape sofa look good in the living, instead of a 3+1+1 seater? Btw as you noticed already, I missed one window in dining area.

I think a comfortable distance between the island and the counter is around 42". It seems that you have only 30" between your cook top and the counter. I might be a little too tight. The wall between the entrance and the kitchen could be 4' long instead of 6', you would then be able to move the island a foot which would give you more room between the cook top and the island. Could you switch the location of the toilet and vanity in your dad's bathroom so your enter facing a vanity instead of a toilet which is a lot nicer.

OK... but the wire wont be lower as it is fixed now. The wire in the pics below is the wall facing each other. They were leveled on equal height but the beam on one wall makes it seem a little above. But i think you guys are absolutely right that up and down lights wont look good there. I think you are right about down lights lessismoore. Would it look good if i go with two different lights on opposite walls??? it would look odd right.

For the dining room, I think I'd orient the table 90 degrees from how it's drawn, and I would make it a drop leaf or gateleg table so that it can be made smaller when not being used for dining. I would embrace the idea that the entry is right in the middle of the living room, and bring the living room furniture out towards the fireplace so the fireplace is connected to the seating area. Maybe TV above fireplace. In that back corner where the sofa is drawn, I'd make that a small work/office space.

i used the 3 +1+1 because it allows for more flexibility for moving around the room i suggest that an L shaped sofa would block access to the sliding door and/or the front entry, perhaps 2 x 2 seaters could also work and/or you could try swopping the lounge and dining areas but that arrangement doesn't allow wall space for a TV
