It's hard to tell without pictures. Can you post some pictures? You can custom color the veneer to match the existing stone. Or you can choose a stone that has more of a traditional feel.

Hi, Congratulations on your new home! It seems really lovely place. I'd like to know whether are you planning on renovating whole space or just changing the furniture? If you are only going for furniture, here are few images of couch attached, please have a look. I say, align the couch along the walls so that you can get more area to use. Go for regular couch and chairs. If I'm not wrong TV is placed above the fireplace. Suggestion: bring it to eye level. TV is normally placed at the height of an average 30". Hi all, bought our first home and found out mid sale that fireplace has to be fully replaced. getting it replaced and want to go from first pic to second pic for my fireplace - fireplace is gas, material around is rough drywall. Any ideas please? I just want a simple finish with a floating wood mantel. do I have to use wall boards? help!
