Kitchen Backsplash?

I am trying to decide on a backsplash. Everyone wants me to select a gray glass tile to pick up on the "carrera " accents in the Quartz counters but the kitchen is open to the great room which has ( or will have ) dark browns, blacks, taupes and beiges. I feel I should tie that in for continuity. There is also some gray in the fireplace though. What do you guys think?

You could look at a charcoal coloured glass tile, you have a lot of black trim, Windows etc

I do think gray glass will be fine. There are many shades of gray so get lots of samples.

Hi, With the Internet and international shipping, getting samples of a tile you see on Houzz sent to you is a viable option. Then having it matched would be easier. Though. Come to think of it, is international shipping and ordering on line cheaper than custom manufacture? Look into both!

Hello Ash, Jaipur Blue Pottery tiles are definitely suited for kitchen backsplashes and are heat resistant since they are fired in a kiln like other ceramics. I bought mine from a vendor in Jaipur, and got them shipped to Bangalore. Just make sure to be very very clear on what you want - hand-painted or screen-printed tiles; there is a big difference between the two. Happy to discuss further. Thanks, Gargi

I would suggest possibly using a backsplash that combines glass and slate or stone. Find one that brings out the gray in the countertop in the glass and ties in the stone of the fireplace. Best of both worlds. An example:

I always go with a simple approach, I recommend a full height backsplash made of the same material as the countertop.

Your counters are lovely. I think a backsplash of the same material will work well.

I would pick something in the gray or silver family since it will be right next to counter. The other colors in the next room (black, brown, tans) are neutrals so I think it would look great.

Solid sheet grey glass would look beautiful. Just get the right shade. Nice home!
