Are you kidding she has brown everywhere how does dark brown add a pop of color. I would add a robins egg blue and maybe some yellow to the mix and for sure some drapes instead of what you have on the patio doorand I would not have done wood blinds in this already too brown space some roman shades in the same fabric as the drapes would be nice

Patricia hit the nail on the head. You definitely don't need any more brown, and burgundy isn't that much better. Sometimes I think people don't even read what is said or look at pics before commenting. More like a standard comment plug for their business. Whatever you do at this point, no more brown or neutrals. I would paint walls to add a much needed injection of color. Your room seems very big and barren, and almost a blank slate, save for some furniture. Paint walls, add art, coffee table or sides. I would also take down make shift drapes from the glass slider.

I would pick curtains last, since you haven't chosen a design or color palate yet and you already have covers for your windows. First are you planning on painting the walls, what are your favorite colors (besides neutrals you already have), did you have plan when you first purchased the rug furniture, and shades?

When I fist bought the rug, we had a brown sectional which btw I always hated. Originally I wanted a white sofa but ended up getting this beige one.. My idea is to remove the brown pillows for sure, keep the shades up most of the time, get curtains with small prints perhaps in turquoise then add 2 more pillows. I love pastels. I don't like red for living room decor. I'm Getting side and coffee tables. We don't have FP so we will hang the tv then put a couple of plants we already have and add accessories. But because of the rug I'm also leaning towards white plain curtains because I'm afraid of too many patterns then accessories in blue green. At this point we are not changing the paint we just moved to a brand new house

In a sea of brown, I wouldn't get too poppy with color. I think I'd vary the neutrals a bit with some whites and warm grays. The idea is to soften the look, not assault the eyes.

I like the suggestion for red.

But love the idea of a more orangey-red.

I think that one of the keys to a successful space though is the idea of not only adding in "pops of color", but layering in the right (varying) shades of colors with gorgeous textures/patterns.
