Need help for designing the light in my living cum dinning room

I have a 23 by 16 living cum dining room, and I have placed three parallel wooden beams in equal gap . I am confused should I put a single statement chandelier in the centre or two small ones, one above the sofa area and other in the dining side. Have a bar cum crockery unit placed near the centre along the wall..please help ..the rest of the room there will be spot lights and fans on the beams. Attached the picture before lighting as well..

Let your wooden beam be as it is. put your Led lights in the other direction ( two on each side in one rectangle , so the total will be 16 units of say 10 watt each Led.), as to balance the horizontal and vertical shape. Don't put anything on the wooden beam to retain its the beauty.

You could build a cabinet around the pillar that can house both TV's ... I think a comfortable distance between the island and the counter is around 42". It seems that you have only 30" between your cook top and the counter. I might be a little too tight. The wall between the entrance and the kitchen could be 4' long instead of 6', you would then be able to move the island a foot which would give you more room between the cook top and the island. Could you switch the location of the toilet and vanity in your dad's bathroom so your enter facing a vanity instead of a toilet which is a lot nicer.

For the dining room, I think I'd orient the table 90 degrees from how it's drawn, and I would make it a drop leaf or gateleg table so that it can be made smaller when not being used for dining. I would embrace the idea that the entry is right in the middle of the living room, and bring the living room furniture out towards the fireplace so the fireplace is connected to the seating area. Maybe TV above fireplace. In that back corner where the sofa is drawn, I'd make that a small work/office space.

Thanks Nitin. Only issue I can see with centre sofa is number of guests one can serve. With wall side L-shape sofa, we can extend the seating capacity by using dining chairs when there is any need. Anyway there is nothing like perfect thing and every design will have pros and cons.

Hi, you could have had the focus lights in the strip beam which could have acted as the lighting for the living room. Option of yours seems ok with two special lights on either side of the wooden beam instead of one chandelier.

Please put some wall mounted revolving type light for focus as you need. and create some opening to bring as much as natural light.thanks.

It will be more practical to put a chandelier in between or may be a nice hanging pendant cause you will need fan in both the living and dining area.
