You have all the reasons to redo the house, its very lifeless and looks worn out. I feel creating a separation will terminate the spaciousness of the room. Adding colours will surely help, Since you have a tan color sofa,I suggest grey, white or light blue color on one of the walls. Add some art works of the color you chose for the wall. This room needs some fillers like , books, throws, candle stands tall and lean. YES DON FORGET 1. Mount the tv on the wall make some space on the floor and Fix a large size mirror ( Wooden Frame if you can afford).

I am so happy to see you here! I will have to go back and see if i can retrieve my posts... thought I would make them into a little book for my daughter, with photos. Quick run-down on the bathroom (not travels, no time) - The kitchen has a rather elegant sliding door with beveled glass panels. Painted white, since this was the original colour. GD's new bathroom has the doors I had picked earlier; i thought of polishing them but decided sprayed automobile paint (on a resin primer) would wear better. Especially since it is such a small bathroom, and she is so splashy. I have this finish in my kitchen and it has lasted 15 years now. A tad chipped here and there, but only needs a wipe down once a week. Same finish for the balcony doors, also split like the bathroom. We have a new wardrobe, a study table with built-in shelves, and a small chest of drawers for her odds and ends. I want to re-tile the tiny balcony, more as a little statement. Currently we are looking at Portuguese tiles, though I did think a mosaic with a funky cat might be nice. Let me see the costing. The room will be painted a neutral adobe, with bright white woodwork and an off-white ceiling. This means she can go wild with cushions and covers. Other changes in the flat; We have changed the glass in the master bedroom and living room from small cramped panes to a single pane for each section with a 1" bevel all round. Right now there is no dish washer, though a place is earmarked, but for now I will put in a cupboard with steel racks for cups, glasses and plates, all hidden behind pressed glass doors. Sharma - for a fellow, double hanging (stacked 40 - 44" areas each) accommodates most pants, shirts and blazers. There are systems with racks that lower and raise that make triple hanging for things out of season. Let's imagine four elevations - looking at the walls with the slanted ceilings and the end walls with window / doors. You have the most height between the doors - why not put double stacked hanging there for 6'? - Or do open shelves and drawers there the depths of the door itself. 16" - 20" is deep enough to store folded clothing - 14" will do a lot. On the long sides - draw a straight line across at the bottom of the slant - put stepping open shelves above and hanging underneath on the side without the window. Use double hanging for 2/3 of the length and full height hanging for the rest. On the large window side, consider a bench under the window, as a place to sit and put on shoes and socks. Perhaps on each side of the window, a chest of drawers. Let this be the side that gives the room personality - mirrors over the bureaus. Then, on the front wall with the charming window - consider shoe shelves underneath and on each side - these don't need to be more than 12" deep and they fit fine behind the hanging on the one wall - they just need about 16" distance between to access . . Look online at easyclosets.com - you may want to fabricate locally, but the online design tool should work well for you. Good Luck! - it is a lovely space. Hello Monika, I must say that concrete wall is fantastic! I see a large planter with a large leaved plant there.. I like Jonathan's idea, off white or shades of cream for the remaining walls and ceiling or even a subtle stone colour.. Then we need to talk textures! I think the sofa could work if you move it out a bit from the wall and layer it up with throws and add a couple of lovely cushions.. Warm woods would be nice too to balance the room.. Have you considered adding concrete to other areas of the home? There are some fantastic concrete chairs available both as a chair and bar stool.. Could be fabulous to compliment this room.. Cox and Cox did some pendant lights that were concrete with a warm edge detail.. You could create your own arrangement with a 5 wire ceiling rose and hooks.. A glass topped coffee table could be nice too.. Have a look at eBay or vintage shops.. Oh and one more thing... You can if you like the concrete wall find wallpaper for another room say that resembles what you have in the living room or even marble! It's fabulous and a feature you want to make the most out of! :))
