I think you're right that it's the cream throwing it off. Are you wishing to keep the sofa? If so, you could always cover it. There's a photo similar to your colour scheme below - I think the room works well with white, grey and black for a contemporary feel.

But if you wanted to add some personality, I'd go with different textures (whether this be upholstered cushions, a fur throw or perhaps a large floor rug (which will add cosiness too).

The bottom photo shows how bright accent colours such as yellows and teal can really brighten up the space!

If you wanted to add some warmth, I'd also go for a couple of floor lamps and a good sized piece of colourful artwork above the sofa. (here you can afford to go big and bold - the bigger the better, I say!)

Keep us updated with anything you decide on. It's a lovely space, I think it's just craving some colour and texture - which is super easy to add.

absolutely ADORE that grey wall... but it definitely doesn't go with that sofa :(

not sure if i count as an expert.... but i reckon you should add loads more grey in... like grey throws, cushions etc to make the wall go with the sofa...

i definitely agree with the floor lamp thing, Ocean Clarke.... Ikea do a really nice industrial style one that i think would really link with your scheme

Hi. I think the sofa works with the floor. Perhaps a very pale but warm grey for the walls? I'd paint the wood in the ceiling and hang a cluster of pendants from the middle square.

I think you've got enough ceiling height to hang them low enough so they make a feature of the stone wall. Would add a tall leafy plant in the left hand corner. I'm not sure on your preferred style but would look at a abstract rug, something similar to the pic which tones in with the floor. Then I'd choose a modern abstract for the sofa wall, something 2/3 of the sofa width. Pick one of the art colours as an accent colours then add cushions and throw in that and shades of the grey and beige in different textures. I'd go for a glass coffee table to keep the feeling of space. Maybe something that mirrors the tv unit shape. If there's room, a small end table for the sofa with lamp

I think the wall is a great feature! You can add some colour to room with a piece of art on the wall and some cushions and rug to compliment.

Another suggestion is to add colour through the furniture, although I am not sure if you want to change your sofa? Here's some ideas for using fabrics to give a living room character:

I think the room will look much more inviting if you add some colour!

Really love this room- it has so much potential! In our opinion, all it needs are a few well chosen accessories, including of course a rug. It would be great to add some warmer tones to the room. I think you can make the sofa work by getting rid of the brilliant white in the walls and replacing it with a softer white.
I would look at a pale grey for the ceiling too and a large geometric rug in natural and grey colours

I must say that concrete wall is fantastic! I see a large planter with a large leaved plant there.. I like Jonathan's idea, off white or shades of cream for the remaining walls and ceiling or even a subtle stone colour..

Then we need to talk textures! I think the sofa could work if you move it out a bit from the wall and layer it up with throws and add a couple of lovely cushions.. Warm woods would be nice too to balance the room.. Have you considered adding concrete to other areas of the home? There are some fantastic concrete chairs available both as a chair and bar stool.. Could be fabulous to compliment this room..

Cox and Cox did some pendant lights that were concrete with a warm edge detail.. You could create your own arrangement with a 5 wire ceiling rose and hooks.. A glass topped coffee table could be nice too.. Have a look at eBay or vintage shops.. Oh and one more thing... You can if you like the concrete wall find wallpaper for another room say that resembles what you have in the living room or even marble! It's fabulous and a feature you want to make the most out of! :))
