The winters get pretty chilly especially at night. Our pool is in mostly shade in winter on the ground but the elevation of the roof of this product would get sun. Just wondering. Plus the cost.
If the upper portion of the Pool Enclosure is in the sun the enclosure will gain heat and depending on the amount of area that is in the sun will determine how much heat will be gained from the sun. The Enclosure will also gain heat even when it is not directly in the sun (greenhouse effect). It won't heat the pool directly but it will help keep the pool warmer since the air above the pool will be warmer reducing heat loss from the pool. Costs for Retractable Pool Enclosures range from lows in the $45 psf (per square foot) range to over $80 psf. Shipping, site prep, installation are all considerations. You may want to consider solar pool heating, if you have an area that gets full sun in the winter months, combined with the enclosure to help keep the heat from escaping. www.EveryDegreeIsFree.com
