We just moved into a new house. It has high ceilings. Kitchen, Living and Family room all flow together in a large room. The walls have been painted and we dont want to change the wall colors at this time. I am interested in getting some advice on the type of furniture to buy, rugs (colors, patterns), wall decor (painting, clocks), furniture arrangement and the colors to use. The large island also has a pull-out breakfast counter. But, we want to add a nook table. Please suggest ideas. Thanks.

Lostinwoods, Covering the holes should not be a problem with a small dab of painters putty. If you are lucky or have planned enough the frames may cover the area left behind by hanger or clock. IMO, you should use colored photos with white frames as the room seems a bit dark as described by you. You may need some focus lights for the frames. Have a look at some of these photos. Anyone have any luck updating shower trim without replacing the valve? We have the original 1977 set that came with the house and want To change the look from the ugly old standard builder trim of last century. Moentrol escutcheon plate has screws at 5/7 o’clock. This is proving to be quite a challenge without spending an arm and a leg!
