HELP! Need advice for decorating small living room
Comments (5)Hey Amit, Since the Living Room is almost like Grand Central Station, (Or Dadar, if you look closer home) it is necessary to optimize the foot traffic to avoid problems. It would be ideal to create the living area near the window and dining area near all the doors. A window seat or a bench could go along way to increase seating space. One thing you need to look for in your designer or furniture for this space is to find multipurpose smart furniture. It will help you bring about the maximum space utilization. I hope this helps. Comments (16)This is the changes i made according to ur suggestions. Removed balcony and added a bow window for drawing room. One bedroom on the right gets a attached balcony. Work area or utility area can be extended upto 60 cm to the right which will be open to air and metal grill works may b done. I also extended some space near staircase to act as shoerack. Also for the other bedroom and kitchen , space extended outward for builtin cupboard . I cannot push back the toilet near the kitchen because of the space constrains. My only issue that fiddles my mind is that , is there a problem if kitchen door is close to toilet door?? If so i can attach the toilet to the bedroom nearby. Only issue will be that if incase any guest need to use the toilet, then they have to go through the bedroom. Thanks in advance and grateful for all your inputs....See MoreI need advice for my kitchen Plan
Comments (7)My suggestions: - Go for parallel counter units as shown in picture (below) - Dark blue: fridge, light blue sink - Opp. to fridge, left of hob, you may go for a tall unit (7' tall x 2' wide unit, to maximize storage space)... the remaining 7' width in room (I see room width is 9'4", 2' goes for tall unit, assume 4" wastage)... get 75cm or 60cm hob, this is will still give 2'+ area on either side of hob as 'work area', which is sufficient - I would suggest against U space kitchen, as it will create two corners, and you will be left cramped for 'work area' around hob and sink. Corners pose a challenge for effective usage of storage as well. Might compel you to buy expensive corner units - if you feel you have less storage, either go for loft, or make that tall unit 7'6" and have overhead (above counter units) as 2'6" instead of standard 2' - If you go for loft, you may make the loft U shape (if you have an interior designer, ask them to render it, to see whether you like it aesthetically) All the best, Gopi...See MoreHi, I need advice for the tiles to use for kitchen backsplash.
Comments (5)You could go for tiles with design if they are simple ones. if you want plain, you can add some life in the country style with an exposed brick facade or subway tiles. for colours, it depends on how far out of your comfort zone you're willing to go. white is the safe choice, but you can go for blue, green, yellow, all pastel hues...See Moreminnie101
