Comments (13)Manvisudan, I'm not sure what you mean. The walls above the sofa? If so, I think your should go with the richness of Indian art -- something like this wall hanging would be beautiful. I'd hang it horizontally. Look around for something that picks up both the lavender colour of the walls and the red of the carpet. It could be a rug, or a printed or painted cloth. Mount it on a rod and hang it with the lower edge about 18 inches or less above the sofa. (India is probably on decimal? 45 centimetres or less. Whatever feels comfortable to you.) Otherwise, look for those wonderful wooden wall art carvings produced in India and other countries in the east . You could hang one big one, or three small ones in a row....See MoreNeed help to Place my LCD TV in the middle of the hall
Comments (5)By placing the tv on the longest wall on left and placing the couch parallel facing the tv you may have room on the back of the couch to put a long table or preferably a chest with drawers..this would add always needed extra storage at the handy location at the bottom of the steps..this concept creates little rooms within a room and enhances the spaciousness of the open concept hall...See MoreNeed help to Place my LCD TV in the middle of the hall
Comments (21)HI -- Well this is a nice floor plan but it creates problems . Because the space is all open doesn't mean you have to put the living room or the dining room where indicated on the plan . Also where you have marked for the sofa is not going to work there . Not enough room and in the way of getting to the bathroom etc, I do think you may have to have a free floating TV stand between the living -dining rooms . You could have the TV on the wall beside the kitchen and have the sofa facing or on the left wall and the dining at the front . I would put the TV on the left wall near the entrance and have the sofa facing it , leaving a hallway walking space behind the sofa . It's too bad the front entrance is on the left . If it had been on the right then that would be better flow into the center of the main floor . If you do decide to have the TV room divider where you show on the plan , keep it right over to the left wall as a room divider , then it won't cut the room in half so much and it keeps the stairwell open . Remember , you do not need to push the furniture against the walls ....See MoreAllI want is a touch of classic look to my furniture - Mumbai
Comments (9)Thanks. Somehow I did not have luck finding good carpenters, Here is how I wanted the drawers to look. Here is how carpenter from my locality (not too cheap a neighborhood, called Lokhandwala) tried to make, A you can see, he tried to chisel the wood to get this design. Obviously had no clue. Finally he gave up, Brought the unfinished desk in with an excuse to show me how it is coming along, left it with me and never showed his face again. So I tried an expensive carpenter, who did some work at an apartment on NapeanSea Road, a very expensive locality and paid him what he wanted. He too did not know how to make this. All he did was out a moulding in the center to make it look .as though it were similar to what I wanted. At least his work was clean, except that he represented that the top was teakwood while I lter found out that it is mango wood, but he too did not know how to get this done. I hope one of you can suggest a carpenter with some skill....See Morechristinero
