The island works in the plan provided, you might even make the island longer. 42" clearance will work between island and cabinets (36" if not much trafic, and no appliance door swings).

Hello there, Since you have put an all white kitchen with recessed lighting, you won't be needing much lumens for the island. As for the length, two small pendants with 12/15W lamps spaced 2-3' apart would be enough to illuminate the space. Suggestion: Never put the gas stove below the window and chimney against the window. It is ineffective as the air blown out is likely to come back in. At the least, it can be on the right or left side of the window with the chimney on the wall. Or the best place is on a slab on the left wall.

hi , i have designed more than 60 kitchens and with my experience it's extremely difficult to cook with stove in the corner of moved a bit to the right it would end up too close to the sink if the space is less and whatever you wash there are chances that it may fall into the cooking bowl .it would really help if you let me know the measurements of that wall .
