My office is slightly smaller 12x20. I have 4 cans on a grid in the four corners (roughly 30" out from the wall). With a desk lamp - I have plenty of light. Thinking about a ceiling fan and bed lamps. You should have way more light than you need for a bedroom. If possible switch the 2 cans along the wall (which are your pathway to the bath) on a separate switch and 3 way them to your bed and next to the bath. It sounds like the can above the bath door will work for the outside door as well. You can add a light to reach in closets ((We do a flat strip light mounted inside, over the closet door). Most fans have a handheld remote control. You can 3 way the 2 lights on the opposite wall to the door and bedside as well. With 9 ft ceilings- you won't have enough light for reading, but the table laps or wall mounted lamps will be useful there.

I think a comfortable distance between the island and the counter is around 42". It seems that you have only 30" between your cook top and the counter. I might be a little too tight. The wall between the entrance and the kitchen could be 4' long instead of 6', you would then be able to move the island a foot which would give you more room between the cook top and the island. Could you switch the location of the toilet and vanity in your dad's bathroom so your enter facing a vanity instead of a toilet which is a lot nicer.

Hi Good Morning! Location is Goa, well I don't have a revised, request the builder to provide me one. The north is towards the master bedroom, balconies to the east are still part of the plan whereas smaller balconies to the west ones have been integrated with the kitchen and master bedroom resp. Well, Mr. Nitin not open to any kind of civil work, open to flexible ideas in decorating my living room eg prayer space with room divider or so.. Thanks Shivam

Hi Mridul, Greetings, The comments that you have made seems to be spot on. Converting the living into a dining is a great idea depending upon how the furniture is placed and how the rest of the space gets integrated with the entire plan. For e.g. Keeping the dining in the centre and the tv unit on the adjacent wall will make the entire space fully functional as well as spacious. Also the puja room which seems to be very conjusted and small can be a part of larger space as shown in the plan attached and can also go on to the adjacent wall if given a thought. The store existing can be a little large in that case and can accomodate fridge and other kitchen storage pretty well with a sliding door which will make the space feel minimal and unobtrusive in terms of circulation. Now the furniture shown in the centre of kitchen and dining table can be utilized as a serving counter as well as for kitchen counter. The plan seems to have a lot of potential in terms of designing and also, the overall ambience will depend a a lot upon the style and the proportioning of the furniture.
