Is there a base trim there? Is it some sort of rubber base or ceramic? I've attached a base I think would look nice, it is taller and has some detail. I also attached a door casing that is wider but clean lines. White trim always works. Compare your white to your floor tile, there are hundreds of versions of white- yellow white, grey white, beige white, greenish white, you get the idea. Try and stay in a similar feel. If your floor has a grey feel, look at more true whites or greyish whites,

Hi, Tile trims come in aluminium, stainless steel and PVC. 1] You can use PVC trims if you don't want to use metal trims. They are water resistant and durable. PVC trims come in a variety of colours so you can also choose the colour that goes with the rest of your tiles and bathroom. 2] A stainless steel trim is extremely durable and is highly resistant to corrosion and abrasions. Due to this it is widely used in factories. 3] Aluminium trims come in a variety of finishes. Anodized aluminium trims come essentially in metallic colours like silver, bronze, copper, gold. Powder coated aluminium trims come in a variety of colours and don't give the metallic look but offer adequate resistance to water damage. The potential yellowness discernible in Simply White is because it is actually a more colourful white from the Yellow Hue Family. That little kick of colour can work well on ceilings, as that plane can often make a colour appear a little darker & more greyed anyway. So sometimes a choice of more neutral greys here have a possibility of ending up a little grey & shadowy. This is obviously dependent on the available light. Chantilly Lace is a more neutral white from the Green Yellow Hue Family. In character in balanced light it can appear ‘just white’, but in some light people see a hint of its inherent greenness, some might even read it as blueness. Again depending upon how well balanced the available light is. Super White OC-152 is that bit more neutral & so could read a touch more crisp again. Many people prefer a more neutral, crisp trim. It can give you more options for alternative wall colours, should you decide to repaint down the line. Neither Simply or your trim choice would be sat next to each other though, as the wall would come between them. I think the biggest concern would be sitting Simply White next to Classic gray for the reasons mentioned before. If you are set upon Classic Gray then I would repaint the ceiling and swap to one of the more neutral options. I would shortlist your line-up and sample upon board or lining paper in your space so you can move them around.

Anyone have any luck updating shower trim without replacing the valve? We have the original 1977 set that came with the house and want To change the look from the ugly old standard builder trim of last century. Moentrol escutcheon plate has screws at 5/7 o’clock. This is proving to be quite a challenge without spending an arm and a leg!
