Start with what you really want for your cabinets. Then, decide on your flooring, then the countertop to tie them together, then the backsplash to work with cabinets, flooring and countertop, and finally the wall paint color.
Thank you very much! We are also thinking about doing shelving instead of cabinets on top then maybe white cabinets on bottom and then decide on the rest after. (Like you said)
Hi mover33! An idea you might consider is perforated metal or wire mesh cabinet inserts. Please take a look around our Kitchen & Bath Ideabook, and you’ll see how McNICHOLS® Perforated Metal and Wire Mesh can provide a classic, elegant cabinet update. If you’re looking for additional information on our products, please visit our website.
Consider your flooring first as you need it to work with the adjacent room. Then move to countertops. Cabinets/shelving next and backsplash last (to pull it all together). In other words, start with your most limited options and proceed to the items that offer the widest selection. Good luck!
Wow thank you both very much. I loved those pictures and ideas from your idea books. And I also noticed that picking out flooring really matters to tie the whole kitchen together! We have a person and a constructor that has said almost the exact and showed us very similar ideas/pictures. Thank you!!
