I believe a light grey would look nice behind the blue in the map - it needs to be a perfect shade of grey as grey is hard to achieve. Possibly experiment with various colours - I usually paint on board using sample pots first then hold them up in large sheets to see what suits the area... This gives you an indication of where throws of light will capture the actual colour and which shades suite the room without having to paint on the walls. The board base colour generally needs to be as close to your existing wall colour to achieve the closest match.

You are going to have to leave your comfort zone on this one. Walnut is "brown", you have "pink" as a counter top. I would suggest going with another version of the colours already in the room. you have gray/beige and white. I would hesitate going white...but it can be done. You can move into the grays and be very happy (it would look very modern) or you can move into a beige that holds a hint of pink in it (not pink...but a blush of warmth). Or you could go really wonky and add in something like a brushed stainless steel look to the cabinets and have it go "space age". There are specs of blue/gray in this counter top. The next think to look at is an "ashwood" or dark gray wood presentation that has some blue in it. It would lighten the space yet still add drama that dark cabinetry offers.

Greetings! The best option for in this case is using a wallpaper. You get a lot of different kind of wallpapers from Metallic ones to floral prints and some nice fabric texture ones too. Having a fabric on the wardrobe is a tedious and high maintenance. Since you will be constantly touching your wardrobe shutters, the fabric may get dirty and even catch stains due to moisture or any dirt. Wallpapers today are more effective and easy to clean and maintenance free. The advantage of having wallpapers is that you can replace them after few years if you are bored of them and the process is pretty easy. @Rock Doc: Are you addressing this to me? I haven't actually bought these tiles yet - when I do, I will definitely be going for the handmade ones. They're a work of art and irreplaceable in my opinion. However, there are also screen-printed tiles available in the market in more or less the same patterns; the workmanship is of course different, but you get them cheaper, and they're also more easily available. You could give that a shot. I'd recommend Aakaar Flooring Solutions - they're here on Houzz and are able to provide both the above-mentioned types.
