Need help choosing the kitchen cabinet color with counter top !

My new kitchen counter top is dark red/cherry color. All my other furniture, closets, tv unit are of walnut color and I wanted to use the same color for my kitchen to maintain the design. However, with the cherry color counter top, that walnut cabinet is not going at all and I don't know what color to choose. Attached the kitchen counter top color and the rest of the kitchen cabinet color(which I want to do).
Please help me choosing a color for my kitchen cabinet which would go with this counter top.
Note : removing the counter top is not an option and this would incur a lot of extra cost.

You are going to have to leave your comfort zone on this one. Walnut is "brown", you have "pink" as a counter top. I would suggest going with another version of the colours already in the room. you have gray/beige and white. I would hesitate going white...but it can be done. You can move into the grays and be very happy (it would look very modern) or you can move into a beige that holds a hint of pink in it (not pink...but a blush of warmth). Or you could go really wonky and add in something like a brushed stainless steel look to the cabinets and have it go "space age".

There are specs of blue/gray in this counter top. The next think to look at is an "ashwood" or dark gray wood presentation that has some blue in it. It would lighten the space yet still add drama that dark cabinetry offers.

i like this gray idea, only thing is gray might look shabby/dull. Will check on the shades of gray. Thanks a ton for the idea.

Hi Murthy, See from the window reflection in your kitchen, I think that you've got the glossily finished tile for your kitchen. I hope that it's not glossy tiles and probably the light effect in the photo. What kitchen countertop are you planning to select? If you can find a sample of backsplash tiles that work with the walnut and counter, that could make the scheme work. I found this at backsplash.com.
Pink, white and green are great kitchen colours.
