Need Help in designing this living room
Comments (6)So sorry.....I see the dimensions on your floor plan now....oops. It was middle of night here. You have a great place with lots of options. I will try to find a picture for you, but here is what I would try. TV on left wall. Put it on a console table 20" to 30" high, or wall mounted with a wall mounted console below. TV should not be too high or too low for viewing pleasure. The main walkway to the balcony will be on left side in front of TV. To see how the arrangement feels, Try your sofa on the right wall facing the TV. Then put one of the chairs in front of the sofa with its back to the glass and the other opposite of it with the back to your entry. If you feel this arrangement is too far from the TV, a sofa table can be used behind the sofa to move the whole seating arrangement forward. Then if this feels good, you can add a rug. The rug should be at least big enough that the front feet of the furniture can rest on it. You will then need tables on the sides of your sofa. You have the choice of a coffee table or what is called "cocktail ottoman" which you can put a tray for drinks and food on, but still put your feet up. That is always nice when watching TV. If you like this arrangement and go to buy new furniture pieces, get the chairs on each side of the sofa that swivel so the person can watch TV easily. You need to think a lot about what colors you will use in this houses if any rooms are done, take some cues there. It's a big decision that will influence every purchase. Find a 3 color combo that appeals to you. Again look on Houzz at the living room pictures. Post some here that you like....See MoreIdeas needed for Living room furniture arrangement & dimensions
Comments (1)Do you have any photos you can share? We do better with both floor plan and pix. I think the 9' area should be devoted to a library/reading nook with bookcases on the two walls and a comfy chair and floor lamp for reading. I see lots of doors but no windows in your space. The stretch of space from the entry to the balcony/gallery should be kept open for traffic flow, so Place the FP on the 7.5' wall to be seen upon entering. I think 'd try a sectional with two equal wings. Put the TV on the 7' wall between the two doors and float the sofa so one wing faces the FP and the other the TV. Use a credenza 25% wider than the TV rather than a TV stand. In the jog that has a 6' and a 4' wall, try a family game or chess table and stools. Be sure to get a big coffee table made of reclaimed wood so people can put their feet up on it....See MoreNeed help for my bedroom
Comments (9)Yes, moving the bed under the picture wall would be good, and provide space for a chair and ottoman as you mentioned. And i have actually put a new set to curtains today which is a slight brown colored one. And I was thinking about painting the walls with the picture and the one with cupboards in a dark red shade and the adjacent walls something between off white to cream color. I plan to change the floor tiling too, but not at the moment. I've been thinking of making it a wooden flooring. But not sure what color to use....See MoreNeed help with bedroom
Comments (9)Some links you can look up for ideas on multipurpose furniture: http://bit.ly/1yJjARr http://bit.ly/2ouZevd You can also go in for low seating/floor bed and a square coffee table that doubles up as an activity corner. Keep the colours soft, and accessorise with small indoor plants for a cool, breezy look....See MoreDESIGNS! - Susan Hoffman Interior Designs
