“When we met Steve we didn't really know where to start with our garden, having very little funds to work with upfront Steve encouraged us to focus our money into a final design that we could work towards. We were fortunate enough to have seen some of his work in person and were hooked on his creativity and eye for design. Biodiversity and ecology were really important to us having two small children and living in a busy city, we needed a space that will grow and evolve with us and this is something that Steve is extremely passionate about. As a designer, he listened and understood our needs, concerns and urge to use reclaimed materials where possible. He has introduced us to so many exciting ideas when the time finally comes to start planting. He's a pleasure to have on-site, professional and respectful. I'm really looking forward to completing this design and living in our new space. Thank you Steve!”

“From the initial design consultation with Kevin and Paul, we were impressed with Batello's professionalism and their total commitment to our vision for the garden. Throughout the construction process we were able to review progress and were kept up to date with costs and timescales. The Batello Team were extremely hard working and at the end of each day they cleared the work area and tidied everything away..most impressive. “Cheryl came highly recommended by a friend to help design part of our mature garden after a barn had been built to replace an old shed and some very old and diseased shrubs and trees had been removed. As a keen gardener I thought I knew what I wanted and was a bit surprised when Cheryl started by looking at our address on Google Earth but this demonstrates how she starts with the overall shape of the garden and an understanding of the surrounding landscape. Cheryl visited the garden twice. On the first we talked about how we use the garden, what we like, don’t like and how we want to maintain it. Cheryl left us with a sketch. On the second visit we refined the design on a scale drawing and discussed planting ideas. We’ve now had the plan created by a landscaper and are delighted with the result. The whole garden now makes sense – we have an interesting design that works so well but actually didn’t change much – changing a border shape, relocating an armillary sphere and creating a path through some existing trees where all unexpected things that make the garden so cohesive. Could not have achieved this without the help of a professional garden designer and Cheryl was a pleasure to work with, extremely knowledgeable, creative and generously still on hand for ongoing planting advice.”

“We are very pleased that we chose Artisan to remodel our garden. Artisan's design addressed our requirements and improved the garden both aesthetically and practically. We chose an oak frame and kebony for the deck, with porcelain paving and reclaimed local stone facing for the retaining wall. Artisan's design and excellent craftsmanship shows these materials off well. The planting scheme was also very well considered and executed. It has been a delight to see it emerge and flower over the last year.. All the Artisan staff were enthusiastic, tidy, considerate of us, our neighbours and our neighbourhood. The project was very well managed and ran in accordance with the project plan and staged payment scheme. Communication was good and there were regular progress meetings throughout the work. Minor concerns were addressed promptly. The project was completed to the cost agreed at the outset. We are delighted with the result.”
