Morgan approached this job with cheerful determination, impressive organization, and a thoughtful approach to learn all she could from exploring the lingering remnants of these once lovely grounds. “Zach Berger Associates has ben designing and maintaining the landscaping of our property for the last several years. He has developed plans, modified them with our input, and then purchased, installed, and supervised each project. The grounds around our house have been transformed. Zach is an artist and he hires only the best people to work out the details. Zach created rock walls and steps that not only stabilized erosion on one side of our home, but provide an elegant transition from the front to the back yards. He hired a master craftsman to build a rock wall along the front entry of the house that is natural and truly lovely, and progress continued on this wall even in the midst of one of the snowiest winters in a decade. Zach hires people who get the job done and take pride in their work. One of the things I've appreciated the most is Zach's maintenance of our property. He anticipates what we might need and schedules work for each season that we can't manage ourselves. He comes out to personally check on the property and has a wonderful relationship with the people he hires. I can trust his judgment on plantings, on the design, and on the execution of his vision. I give him my highest recommendation.”

“We contacted Alfred of Old Goat Masonry on the recommendation of another home professional. We needed help in transforming a tired ineffective fireplace to a beautifully designed stone hearth for a future wood stove. Alfred is serious about his craft - he is both artistic and pragmatic and this perfect balance of attributes can be hard to find in a creative soul. From design to execution, Alfred demonstrated a passion for quality workmanship and pleasing visuals that produced top notch results at a fair price. It is obvious that this man truly cares about what he does for a living, and for his customers. With his quiet and deliberate demeanor, Alfred seems to effortlessly produce works of art that started with a vision and translated into perfected work that both he and the homeowner can be proud of. Nothing was ever a problem. His work is flawless and his delivery is exactly as promised. We are extremely satisfied with every aspect of this transaction with Old Goat Masonry. “After our first winter and spring in our new home, which found us older folks barely able to get to our house safely over an icy parking area some distance away, and then so bogged down in mud that one car had to be abandoned for two weeks when the mud reached mid-way up its hub caps, we were desperate for design help to relocate the the parking area to a safer, more accessible location that would still be attractive. In a one hour consultation Lizabeth was able to appreciate the challenges of our situation and advise how best to proceed. The result has been fantastic! We now have parking right next to our house and we had a totally mud-free parking area this spring; in addition, not only did we not sacrifice the aesthetics, but the changes in elevation have provided us with a new and much more attractive view of our house from the side.”

“I got to know Josh and his team pretty well over the course of our project (driveway excavation, and installation of clay paver driveway and a bluestone walkway). The whole team- Nick, Kevin, Bruno and Hunter- was organized, professional, and extremely hard working. As a smaller residential project, I still felt we received first class service and a killer finished product. Very happy with the quality of all brick/stone/materials. Moreover he priced very competitively and was very fair when I asked for some deviations along the way. In addition to their high work quality, Josh added a lot of value in the design and planning process which paid off during the project. Bottom line, he and his crew are honest, skilled and hard workers so I'd definitely recommend them.”

“Kristina Stykos brings dedication, artistry, and a conscience to her garden work. She has a sensitivity for the rhythm of a garden's health and its proper maintenance. She respects Mother Nature and the interplay of seasons. I have never worked with anyone as capable and interesting as Kristina. Could it be 12 years already? She is a professional in her business skills and knowledgeable in plant life. Billing is well documented and scheduling dependable. She does not shy away from hard jobs or needed research. She is curious to keep learning. She brings diligence and physical stamina to long hours in outdoor weather. We walk through projects in the spring for the coming season, and we re-evaluate in the fall. Her attention is focused, her work is thorough. She has the eye of an artist. I am particularly impressed with her elegant edging and and care for the flowers. She understands pruning and keeping order. My gardens have thrived under her stewardship. I think the plants like having her around - I know I do. She is a woman of depth and character, with an engaging personality.
