“We have been clients of ILD for nearly 20 years. They designed, and maintained our grounds, gardens, ponds & water features, including the landscaping for two distinctly different homes. Like player-coaches, the owners of ILD are on the job from design consultation to hands on working the grounds, and paying attention to every detail that goes into the overall plan until completion. They are a start to finish company that stands behind their work and maintains a personal relationship with their customers. No job is too small or too large. When we moved an hour away from the home where ILD designed and maintained our gardens we had occasion to consider other landscapers only to swiftly return to ILD as their customer service, quality, and overall skill set are second to none.”

“We contracted with The Landscape Design Center to provide a consultation and subsequent installation of a full landscape lighting update. Although we already had landscape lighting in place for a number of years, as the trees and shrubs have grown we were feeling like the existing lighting did not accentuate the natural beauty of the property nor did it provide adequate path lighting on parts of the property. Our first step was to meet with a Landscape Designer from the Landscape Design Center. She was very knowledgeable with great and creative ideas..... Exactly what we needed. She not only designed the project but also managed the project from start to finish. She also coordinated with our electrician to ensure proper coordination with out Lutron System. In all aspects, she was outstanding! The installation itself was also outstanding. This was a complete makeover. So we expected the lawn and planting beds may be pretty torn up when the project was complete. We were surprised when that was not the case at all. All of the installation was done in a professional and clean manner. You can barely tell that we had any work done at all. The end result is amazing. The new lighting brings out all the best in the property. We can't wait until warmer weather when we spend more time outdoors and really get to enjoy it even more.”

“Jennifer recently worked with me to redesign my garden to include a pool and travertine patio surrounded by four raised flower beds. I found her on the internet, and engaged her after an initial conference when it was clear that she had the imagination and skill to work within the constraints of a historic house and a hardheaded gardener determined to hang onto many heritage plants. While there were many subsequent tweaks, we never really varied much from her initial design, because she listened so well that her first design incorporated all that I was looking for. Her design, her selection of materials, and her ability to work everything I wanted to save from my old garden into a rational and symmetrical but informal garden plan are, I am certain, going to win her another award. I then engaged Jen to supervise construction, and that was a good move. She was constantly in touch with the various contractors, often working alongside. When problems arose, she had several solutions ready to present before she told me about the problem. Inevitably things came up that had not been included in the initial budget she had prepared so carefully, but she made me aware all along of choices and their costs, so I never felt sandbagged. Best of all, she stuck to her estimate of major construction costs even when the actual cost must have far exceeded the budgeted amount. I could never have dealt with the various trades as well as she did, lacking both time and knowledge. While I value her design skills, I must say that without her supervision, I know this project would have cost far more, taken much longer, and probably not turned out as well. Jen is now working with me on the interior of the pool house. I simply do not have the time to shop during tax season, and am finding it wonderful to have her do the leg work so that my involvement is limited to choosing from alternatives and writing checks. The pictures she creates enable me to envision choices so easily that I'm looking forward to working with her on other interior projects. At least four of my friends are planning to consult with Jen even though my project is far from finished- my garden in winter is not much to see! I recommend her wholeheartedly. Not only is she skillful- she is delightful to work with. I will post a photo when the project is completed later this year.”

“I've used Sharper Cut to develop the gardens in front of the house, terrace the front garden for a level field for the trees, bushes, plants and waterfountain, and build out the back garden to include and expanded patio and fishpond with waterfall. Their work is superior...and helps give the house a more inviting exterior view to family and guests. “I have used the services of Miles Barnard of South Fork Studio Landscape Architecture for probably over ten years and multiple projects in different towns. Miles created a private oasis with pool and full landscaping in the rear yard of an historic house that I renovated in Chestertown, MD as well as doing full landscaping design services for a 5 1/2 acre property on Broad Creek in Annapolis, MD. Miles was especially helpful in working with the county government to get me through the extensive permitting process required to build a new house in the Critical Buffer Zone along a body of water in Annapolis. Miles is a total professional with great design skills, knowledge of the industry and ability to get the job done and work with contractors, engineers and architects.”

“We hired Bella Terra Landscapes to build a hardscape front patio on our home. The owner, Mike Schimmel, came to our home to give us an estimate and right away we were impressed with his presentation of ideas for the patio. He gave us a little background of his company and we were equally impressed with the fact that he and his staff, on a regular basis, keep their certifications current and attend classes in the field to always provide for new and innovative ideas and techniques. Mike sent a 4-man crew to our home and each member of that crew was dressed in uniform provided by Bella Terra. Mike would show up everyday at our home and discuss the plan for the day with the crew. Each guy knew their daily role and they hardly took break. Each member of the crew took pride in their work, checking and rechecking each move they made. The finished product was spectacular!! We have gotten so many compliments from neighbors on the job --- and we have given out the 8 business cards Mike left for us to neighbors who are now interested in having Bella Terra doing some work for them. Overall, Mike and Bella Terra Landscapes is a great company, with a great crew!! Mike was always available and returned our calls in a timely manner.
